      Ranging from the pristine beaches skirting Geographe Bay to the Whicher Range, this beautiful part of Western Australia offers the best of both worlds. The district features the clear waters of Geographe Bay which are perfect for fishing, scuba diving, surfing and boating, not far from rolling hills and large areas of Jarrah and Tuart forests.

      Bunbury Visitor Centre

      With its close proximity to Perth, Bunbury and the Geographe Region is an ideal place for a well-earned getaway. Bunbury is the central hub of the region and as Western Australia’s third largest city, it has plenty of options for dining out, shopping, swimming and accommodation. Bunbury is most well-known for the pods of wild bottlenose dolphins which frequent the shores of Koombana Bay regularly, allowing visitors the opportunity to wade, cruise or swim with them.

      Capel Golf Club

      Situated on Bussell Highway, 15 kilometres South of Bunbury or 11 kilometres North of Capel. A superb grass green private golf course, complete with friendly resident kangaroos. Visiting golfers welcome most days (dress standards do apply).

      Ironstone Gully Falls

      If you are heading south east towards Donnybrook along Goodwood Road, it’s worth a stop at the picturesque Ironstone Gully Falls picnic area. In the wet season, the stream, having followed a course through one of the state’s many fine jarrah forests, crosses under the road and gently rambles over a series of rapids. The Falls drop over a ledge of nine metres. From August to October the surrounding countryside abounds with a stunning display of WA wildflowers.

      Stirling Estate Equestrian Centre

      Our riding school caters for riders of all ages and levels, specialising in beginners. Come and ride one of our beautiful horses or ponies and experience riding from the heart. Our equines are extremely well cared for and in top condition – we don’t just say our ponies ares ound, we know they are. Their hooves are perfectly trimmed on a regular basis and they have their bodies fine tuned with JENT just as regularly.

      On the coastal plains, the effects of high ripening temperatures and sunshine hours are offset by the cooling afternoon breezes of coming off the Geographe Bay, creating a climate that is ideal for the production of full bodied table wines. In the Whicher Range at Chapman Hill, temperatures are slightly cooler through the ripening period with the cool winds at night coming off the Southern Ocean, giving rise to wines with flavour intensity and finesse.

      Capel is located 212 kilometres south of Perth, midway between Bunbury and Busselton, and boasts 29km of panoramic, breath taking coastline. Ranging from the pristine beaches skirting Geographe Bay to the Whicher Range, this beautiful part of Western Australia offers the best of both worlds.
